Vol. 6, Issue #4 – Summer & Fall 2020

make it

matter

a message from our CEO

This summer has presented challenges that our business community has never witnessed before. The flexibility that our members have shown to accommodate COVID 19 state and local restrictions as well as increased consumer demand, weather threats, and labor shortages to name a few; has been extraordinary.

We continue to plan in the week for the week, as long term goals help us stay on track. This fall will test our traditions, but we have been able to include new technology, partners, and vision to help us continue to grow. Please see what we have scheduled, and we look forward for you to be a part of it in some way on VisitLBIregion.com.

Stay safe and be well,

Lori Pepenella

32nd Chowderfest

Chowdermonth Restaurant & Merchant Registrations

Due to restrictions currently in place, this year’s Chowderfest will bring chowder tasters directly to the source by supporting local restaurants and retailers. By allowing a full month to share the spirit of the event, customers can enjoy multiple restaurants at their own pace, avoiding the overcrowding of restricted spaces, and visiting merchants in-store and online. The extra time allows customers to plan stops according to their comfort level that will bring a steady stream of business to those members who are participating.

With voters from across the state, Pennsylvania, New York, and locally already registering for their free VIP voter packet through Chowderfest.com; this is a way to get noticed after Labor Day with additional promotion. Registration goes until August 21 to guarantee proper mapping, find out more at the links below.

Chowder gear for sale until September 15.

For the first time in the 32-year history, Chowderfest Merchandise will be available online through our e-commerce site powered by Jetty Inc. Pre-order the popular designs that Tasters have come to expect each year. Orders will be taken for a limited time now through September 15 to guarantee delivery for the Grand Champion Announcement on October 4. Check out Chowderfest.com to shop.
